H-5 PATROUILLE SUISSE

This helmet features the colours of the Swiss Air Force aerobatic team "Patrouille Suisse", as worn by Oberleutnant Beat am Rhyn, who flew as #5 during the 1984 season.

In 1978, a sixth Hunter was assigned to the PS; at the same time, it was decided to have a more catchy livery applied to the pilots H-5s.

The ALSE shop in Dübendorf arranged three prototypes, the one painted in metallic blue (it is said to be the "Alpine Metallisé bleu” of Renault Alpine A110) was chosen.

According to one of the former PS commanders, the choice based on "we have to like it and must be for free".
